Based on the list of metrics contributing to the definition of quality obtained from literature review and roundtable discussions, we utilized geospatial datasets from various sources to commence the process of defining quality in the Black Creek Subwatershed. Mapping these datasets yielded a preliminary understanding of “quality” in open spaces. While acknowledging that these data provide only a basic perspective, this mapping process serves as an initial step in spatializing the identified metrics within the context of the Black Creek Subwatershed. This approach provided a snapshot of these basic metrics, and allowed the comparison of specific aspects of “quality” in Parks and Open Spaces.
