The ArchiQualiData project is the result of a research partnership funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (Grant #895-2022-1003). Its purpose is to facilitate data analysis and use in academic research and studies conducted by students, researchers, and community partners working on the project.
Use of the ArchiQualiData database is subject to these terms and conditions of use, which describe the terms and conditions for accessing, storing, managing, and using the data. By accessing the ArchiQualiData database, you agree to these terms and conditions in their entirety.
2.1. Types of Data Collected The ArchiQualiData database stores and manages various types of data, including but not limited to: Descriptive data about entities analyzed in the research project. Research documents, including reports, studies, analyses, and observations. Lived experiences and testimonies, which may include text, images, or audio files. Metadata used to structure and organize information. These data are collected for research purposes and are used for scientific and academic analysis.
2.2. Use of Data The data stored in the ArchiQualiData database may be used for: Academic research conducted by members of the research partnership. Data analysis by students, researchers, and project partners. Enhancing search and navigation tools within the ArchiQualiData database. Improving user interface functionalities, including anonymized user journey tracking. The data is not used for commercial purposes and is not sold to third parties.
3.1. Data Hosting The ArchiQualiData database is hosted and managed by the Digital Alliance of Canada (https://alliancecan.ca/). The Digital Alliance implements security measures in accordance with best practices to ensure data protection.
3.2. Transmission of Data to Third-Party Services To optimize research and analysis, some data are transmitted to third-party services: Algolia: Data is indexed and sent to Algolia to enhance search functionalities within the ArchiQualiData database. Product Fruits: Onboard users and display messages on the administration panel. Hotjar: An anonymized tracking system is in place to analyze user journeys, record certain sessions, and collect feedback to improve the user experience. No personally identifiable data is recorded. Google Analytics: Used to collect anonymized statistical data about platform usage. These data transmissions comply with applicable data protection laws.
4.1. Access to Data Access to the ArchiQualiData database is restricted to: Members of the research partnership involved in the project. Students and researchers authorized to use the data for academic analysis. Suppliers and collaborators working on the ArchiQualiData project, provided their access is necessary for project implementation. Data access is strictly regulated and limited to research and analysis purposes.
4.2. Data Confidentiality and Security Users must respect the confidentiality of the data and are prohibited from sharing it outside the scope defined by the ArchiQualiData project. The Digital Alliance and ArchiQualiData project managers implement security measures in compliance with industry standards to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
5.1. Data Anonymization and Privacy Protection Data collected and used in ArchiQualiData is anonymized whenever possible to minimize the risk of individual identification. No personal tracking of users is conducted through PostHog or Google Analytics. All analyses are performed in aggregate and anonymized form.
5.2. Compliance with Applicable Laws The ArchiQualiData project complies with data protection laws and regulations, including: The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada. Law 25 of Quebec, for users located in Quebec. Any individual wishing to exercise their right to access, rectify, or delete data may contact the ArchiQualiData team at livingatlasofquality@gmail.com
Users of the ArchiQualiData database agree to: Not use the data for purposes other than those defined by the ArchiQualiData project. Respect confidentiality rules and not disclose sensitive information. Not alter or modify data without authorization. Not attempt to access data they are not authorized to view. Any violation of these commitments may result in suspension or termination of access to the database.
The ArchiQualiData project reserves the right to modify these terms of use at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated to users through appropriate channels. Continued use of the ArchiQualiData database after updates to these terms constitutes acceptance of the modifications.
