"Mahogany is a strong example of built-environment quality due to its integrated network of green spaces, pathways, housing types, and amenities that support everyday livability. The connected walking and biking paths allow residents, especially children and elders, to move safely without interacting with cars, fostering independence, physical activity, and a strong sense of safety. As a parent, this design has enabled my children to access parks and spaces freely, highlighting how thoughtful planning can directly support wellbeing. At the same time, it raises important questions about who has access to these types of communities and how such qualities can be more equitably distributed across the city."
