"I experience Medicine Hill as a project that shows how much a design can change through discussion and iteration. When you think about it, it started with a good idea, a Main Street concept with midrise buildings, something that could work well in the city.
What stands out for me is how the project evolved. It was not a fixed design. There were different scenarios explored, and through that process, the direction improved. Eventually, the design shifted in a way that made much more sense, and that was surprising, because that kind of change does not always happen.
There is something hopeful in that. It shows that projects are not always determined from the beginning. With the right dialogue and effort, they can change for the better.
At the same time, you understand that there are many factors at play. Different developers, different architects, different levels of understanding. That makes every project a bit uncertain. When something good comes out of it, you can recognize that it is not automatic; it is the result of many things coming together.
For me, the experience is about seeing that improvement happen. It is not perfect, but when a project shifts in the right direction, you can feel that it is better, and that is what matters."
