The Edison

"I experience The Edison as a building that feels very different from a typical corporate space. It has a mix of uses and elements that make it feel more open and accessible. There is a public component, like the coffee shop, where people can spend time and work without feeling watched or asked to leave. It feels relaxed and welcoming. The building also includes important things like one of the few fully accessible washrooms in downtown, which makes a big difference in who can actually use the space. When you think about it, that kind of access is not common, and it changes who the building is for. There are also shared spaces like lounges, a gym, and areas where people can gather, and even small things like allowing dogs in the building change the feeling. It becomes more human and less formal. For me, it stands out because it does not feel overly controlled or corporate.
