The Strathcona

A designated historic resource, The Strathcona (1891) is a 3-storey wood-frame mixed-use retail and office building in the heart of Whyte Avenue at the intersection of Gateway Boulevard. Given a new lease on life, exterior and interior updates include new exterior signage, paint, and reimagined interior public space centered around a shared atrium with natural daylighting provided by an overhead skylight. Exterior patios and commercial spillover increase streetscape activation and the overall vitality of the neighborhood. (text by HSEA Architecture Inc.)
