Kensington Road NW and 10 Street NW

"I experience the corner at Kensington Road NW and 10 Street NW as a space that really shows how a small intervention can change how a place feels. It used to function mainly as a parking area, and there were elements like an electrical vault that made the space uncomfortable and even a trip hazard. When you look at it now, it has become a small outdoor patio. There are chairs and tables, and it feels animated. Even though it is not a large space, it changes how people use that corner and how they experience it. What stands out is that making this happen required a lot of coordination. Different groups were involved, from the community to businesses and technical teams. It was not a simple change, even though the result looks simple. For me, the experience is about how that small space now feels active and welcoming. It shows that even a very small project can create a noticeable difference in how people gather, sit, and spend time in the city." (Adapted from interview material.
