Glenbow Museum Redevelopment

"The Glenbow is another project that really stands out to me. It is an incredible example of adaptive reuse, but what excites me most is how technically difficult it was to do. They had to replace almost the entire exterior wall of the building while still maintaining very tight interior temperature and humidity levels, because millions of dollars’ worth of artifacts were stored right there in the middle during construction. That kind of challenge is extraordinary. What I also love is that the new cladding system was custom-designed and custom-fabricated here in Calgary. To me, that says a lot about local craftsmanship and innovation. It is not just a renovation. It is a project that shows how you can preserve an important civic and cultural institution while also doing something highly ambitious from a construction and design point of view."
