"I experience Lindsay Park as a place that I really enjoy going to because it has a lot of different kinds of spaces within it. What stands out for me is that you can find areas that feel more private, even though it is a public park. There are a lot of trees, and because of that, you can kind of tuck yourself away. In the summer, I will set up a hammock between two trees and just stay there for hours. It feels like you can have your own space within a larger public environment. That ability to step back and find a quieter, calm spot is really important. It does not feel exposed or overly busy all the time. You can choose how you want to be in the space, whether that is more social or more private. For me, a big part of what makes it work is the presence of trees and nature. Being able to see greenery and be surrounded by it makes a huge difference in how the space feels. It makes it less overwhelming and more comfortable to be there. It is just a place where you can relax, spend time, and feel a bit removed while still being in the city." (Adapted from interview material.
