The SAT is a venue dedicated to the development, dissemination, and research of digital arts. The program offers concerts, immersive exhibitions, training courses, a restaurant, and more. I've been there a few times now. Whether with friends or family, I've always enjoyed my experience there. I recently returned to the SAT for an electronic music event. The concert took place in the large hall on the ground floor, a vast industrial space plunged into a vibrant darkness. The lighting allowed us to immerse ourselves in the musical experience. A temporary passageway formed by a large black curtain allowed us to transition between the dance floor and the outside. Accompanied by a friend in a wheelchair, among others, I remember being surprised at how easy it was for us to move around, even through the crowd. Another architecturally and technologically interesting space at the SAT is the projection dome. It is one of the few places in Montreal that offers this kind of immersive spatial experience. I remember, during another visit, enjoying the terrace of the restaurant-bar on the top floor with my parents. Located in the heart of downtown, this terrace is an intimate and comfortable space offering unique views of the surrounding built environment. Finally, I always enjoy those moments when I ride my bike past the SAT. I recognize its illuminated façade, which is unique to the spirit of the place. With its skillful architectural expression, this intervention on the building evokes memorable moments for me.
