"I experience 34 Avenue SW as a place that feels very naturally dense and really nice to walk around. There is a mix of older houses that have been converted into businesses and newer buildings, but everything still feels human scale. You are not surrounded by huge buildings in a way that feels overwhelming. There are all these small, interesting places, sometimes in what feels like the size of a house or a duplex, where you will find multiple little shops, patios, and small alleyways. It creates these moments where you can kind of wander and explore, and it feels like there is always something to discover. It also feels very pedestrian-friendly. There are trees, places to sit, shops, cafés, and now a bike path as well. It just feels like a place where you can slow down, walk around, and spend time. For me, it almost feels like you are not in Calgary. It feels like you are somewhere with more history and density, somewhere more layered. And it is that mix of old and new, along with the scale and walkability, that makes it feel like a really nice place to be." (Adapted from interview material.
