Halifax Central Library - Nova Scotia

I remember my first time at Halifax Central Library when it first opened in 2014. I was only 10 years old, but I could still tell immediately that I was standing front of something that would have a large impact on my life. Standing in the front lobby and looking up at the crisscrossing stairs between levels was like nothing I had ever seen before in real life. Even now, 11 years later, the library is still a staple in my life. It's a near by refuge from the busy city street for everyone, and a place I go to often when I still need to work while also needing a break from my university campus. The library has a variety of elements that make it truly special. The many areas accommodating different age groups or needs, the support system is provides today for people of lower incomes, and of course the amazing books. I'll never get tired of the calm atmosphere that settles with each rise of the floors, and the views of the city that the large, wrapping windows offer.
